Dr. John Chappo is currently a full-time faculty member in the School of Sciences, Humanities & Visual Communications, where he teaches history courses. In addition to ongoing efforts of migrating some history courses to hybrid and online modalities, Dr. Chappo has served on select committees for the College such as the Student Affairs Committee. More generally, Dr. Chappo has served as a Course Author Consultant and Subject Matter Expert for several institutions, to include supporting the development of persistence efforts and institutional outreach to students, whether in the traditional classroom setting or fully online. Dr. Chappo has served as an experiential education consultant and was formerly a Center Fellow at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching. While he maintains an active research and writing agenda, Dr. Chappo is currently a finalist in the Gettysburg National Military Park's licensing process for its highly selective battlefield guide program.
