The BPI Building Analyst course is a comprehensive training which covers many topics on home performance evaluation and energy efficiency retrofit planning including: fundamentals of building science; home assessment; BPI standards and testing protocols; energy modeling and work scope development; building science calculations, and use of diagnostic equipment including blower door, pressure pan, exhaust fan flow meter and combustion safety testing equipment. The class is geared toward professionals with previous field experience with diagnostic and combustion appliance zone testing. Candidates with BPI Building Analyst certification must have proven knowledge, skills and abilities to perform comprehensive whole-home assessments to optimize comfort, durability, and performance by identifying problems at the root cause and prescribing prioritized solutions based on building science. This training prepares students to challenge the written and field examinations required to achieve the BPI Building Analyst Professional Certification. The class is followed by the 100-question (2hour) Building Analyst written exam. After the trainees successfully complete the written portion of the test, we schedule them for the field test. The certification exams are included in the course fee.
