Aviation Workforce Success

In this action-packed mini-camp, you’ll dive into the growing opportunities in the field of aviation maintenance. We'll spend the weekend learning what it takes to earn a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate.

The Weekend Rundown

Ready for takeoff

Fly through the labs where Penn College students tear down and repair engines. See the hangar with our fleet of 20 college-owned planes. Check out the electrical aspects and specialty instruments. Learn about composite and sheet metal materials used in the fabrication and repair of aircraft structures. And try your hand at bending, forming, and riveting sheet metal.

You'll even meet with an admissions counselor to learn about the three aviation tracks available at Penn College and what it takes to become a Wildcat. When you're done trying out the labs, learning from our industry experts, and testing your newfound skills, there’s still time for a campus and housing tour and a chance to refuel with a meal in our Capitol Dining Hall.
