Q&A with ELSNER

HOW DID YOUR COMPANY FIRST CONNECT WITH PENN COLLEGE?

The relationship between ELSNER and Penn College developed 15 years ago when a group of employees traveled to the College to participate in a recruitment event. There, we discussed opportunities to work at ELSNER as a field service technician, a position we still hire for today among many others. Since our very first interaction, we’ve known that Penn College values industry partners just as they do students. In October of 2020, ELSNER donated a Fanuc Robot as an educational resource for the student body. We are excited by the continued opportunities to engage Penn College students and value the relationship we have fostered with the school.

WHAT QUALITIES OF PENN COLLEGE STUDENTS MAKE THEM STAND OUT FOR YOUR OPERATIONS?

In the times that we have engaged with students, there has been one quality that stands out - an eagerness to learn. Our conversations with students have been refreshing and compelling, because it is apparent they have been prepared with the knowledge and skillsets to exceed in their professional careers. They come to each discussion with questions and curiosities unique to their goals. The students are willing to receive feedback and approach new situations knowing they’ll benefit from a learning opportunity. At ELSNER, we promote an atmosphere of learning, engagement, feedback, and growth and value the individual contributors to that environment.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (AND PARENTS) WHO ARE CONSIDERING PENN COLLEGE?

Penn College emphasizes the value of industry needs and shares the importance of this with students in varying platforms. Penn College and its welcoming staff of educators have harvested many strong relationships with employers. Their foundation and passion for creating the baseline of success for their students has allowed them to develop employer/student relationships for the best possible educational experience. The environment is welcoming to everyone and their unique interests and styles of learning. If you’re workforce driven and strive to build that connection while learning, Penn College is the school for you.

WHAT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE PENN COLLEGE STUDENTS TO BEST PREPARE THEM TO JOIN YOUR TEAM?

ELSNER has a dynamic and diverse atmosphere that believes in forward thinking mindsets and collaboration. We would ask for individuals interested in wanting to join the ELSNER team to engage in similar strides of goal setting initiatives and thinking. As a company, we value the act of integrity and allowing team members to take ownership for their ideas and decisions. Be ready to offer your ideas, because every voice matters!
