Q&A with Jesse

WHAT LED YOU TO PENN COLLEGE AND YOUR MAJOR?

I was led to Penn College because of the hands-on nature of the school and how comfortable the campus felt. Penn College offers an impressive ROTC program. I joined nursing because I love science and I find joy in helping others. My family is also full of medical professionals.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT STUDYING AT PENN COLLEGE?

My favorite part of studying at Penn College is utilizing the study rooms at the library, particularly the ones with the projector so I can share my notes with my classmates.

HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED WITH ROTC?

I knew I wanted to serve my country and earn a bachelor's degree. Penn College offered me a chance to do both. Our ROTC program is empowering and motivating, while also capable of assisting students financially. Penn College waives room and board for all cadets as soon as they contract.

HOW HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH ROTC BENEFITED YOU THUS FAR?

ROTC has showed me that I am capable of being a leader. I have learned the fundamentals of what it means to be an officer in the United States Army. It has motivated me to develop important positive lifelong habits.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR SOMEONE CONSIDERING PENN COLLEGE?

For those considering Penn College, I want to express how focused our school is on our majors. I had to take very few general education classes and the ones I did made sense for my major.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM JOB?

My dream job is being a member of the Nursing Medical Corps in the U.S. Army, being a Nurse Practitioner, and getting my masters in Education at some point.
