The Office of Residence Life seeks to create a healthy, educational environment in the residence halls, which is conducive to the educational mission of the Pennsylvania College of Technology and the students who are enrolled. In order to accomplish this task, the Residence Life staff is involved in a variety of activities, one of which includes the enforcement of College policy. See Student Guidebook (login required) for complete information.

Process

After confronting a resident on a violation, the following will usually occur:

  1. The Residence Life staff member will complete and submit an Incident Report.
  2. The Incident Report will be reviewed and assigned to the appropriate Administrator (Coordinator of Residence Life and/or Coordinator of Off-Campus Living & Commuter Services) who will then schedule a time to meet with the student.
  3. The Administrator will explore all aspects and evidence pertaining to the incident. The Administrator will then decide the level of responsibility of the student. If responsible, the Administrator will assign a sanction. The student has the ability to appeal.
  4. Should it be determined that the matter is best handled by the Student Conduct Board, the Board will meet and decide the level of responsibility of the student. If responsible, the Board will recommend appropriate sanction(s) to the Vice President of Student Affairs. The Vice President will then assign a sanction(s) but will not be limited to the sanction(s) recommended by the Board. The student has the ability to appeal.
