MSCHE Information

Pennsylvania College of Technology is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). Pennsylvania College of Technology’s accreditation status is Accreditation Reaffirmed. The Commission’s most recent action on the institution’s accreditation status on June 23, 2022 was to reaffirm accreditation.

MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education (CHEA).

As an institutional accreditor, MSCHE requires evaluation of all aspects of the institution holistically, including modality of instruction, and everything done in the name of the institution, including all academic programs and services, fall within their scope of accreditation.

MSCHE is proud of the role it serves in verifying the quality of higher education through peer review, assessment, and evaluation. MSCHE is an active partner in quality assurance through its service as a voluntary, non-governmental, membership association for institutions of higher education throughout the United States as well as globally. MSCHE is accountable to those it serves, including institutions, states and federal government, and the public. The MSCHE staff, Commissioners, and peer evaluators understand the important role, responsibility, and reach of accreditation, and we take it seriously.”

Penn College’s accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education serves as a stamp of approval that does a number of things:

  • demonstrates the College maintains academic rigor in their courses and programs;
  • reflects the institution’s commitment to “quality in higher education and its commitment to striving for and achieving excellence;"
  • enables students and employees of the College, alumni and donors, community members and employers to have confidence that the institution uses its resources wisely and fulfills its mission;
  • satisfies essential governmental criteria for students’ ability to receive financial aid;
  • builds students’ confidence in the quality and the value of their education;
  • serves as the foundation for the academic schools’ applications for program accreditation;
  • attests to the fiscal soundness of the institution relative to federal and state government; and
  • bolsters the College’s ability to compete with other colleges and universities for quality students and employees.
