He received the FAA Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award and a single engine land and sea pilot license. He is a girls softball assistant coach, Cub Scout and Boy Scout master and merit badge counselor, and a 4-H shooting sports counselor. He resides in Enola.

He holds a master’s degree in health service administration from University of Saint Francis and a Doctor of Health Sciences from Nova Southeastern University. He resides in Williamsport.
