New director takes seat on Penn College Board

Michael Stefan has begun his service on the Pennsylvania College of Technology Board of Directors.

Stefan, vice president for government and community relations at Penn State, succeeds Zack Moore, who had served on the board since June 2021. Moore stepped down as vice president for government and community relations at Penn State on Feb. 2 following seven years in the position.

Stefan was appointed to the Penn College Board by the Corporation for Penn State. The college is a special mission affiliate of the university.

Stefan joined the Office of Government and Community Relations at Penn State in 2017. His 15 years of experience in Harrisburg includes campaign work, lobbying and executive branch service.

Previously, Stefan served as the director of legislative affairs for the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, director of government affairs for the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and legislative director for the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO.

A licensed attorney, Stefan earned a law degree from Widener University Commonwealth Law School and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Penn State’s Smeal College of Business. The Palmyra native resides in State College with his wife, Samantha, and two children, Sylvie and Michael Jr.
